16.11.2009: Promotion and relegation system at the end of season 3
The following highlights explain how the current season will end and the following one will begin:
- a) The ICCF-CL becomes a 3 level league: A = 1 group, B = 4 groups, C = 16 groups.
- b) The Fast Track system disappears.
- c) League D is eliminated to reduce the number of years required for any team to qualify from bottom to top.
- d) All groups change to 13 teams, so full norms would be available where applicable.
- e) Season 2007 - 2009 stops on October 31st, 2009. Adjudications if necessary between November 1st and December 31st, 2009.
- f) Registration for season 2009 - 2011 opens on November 1st and ends December 15th, 2009.
- g) The new season starts (tentatively) January 15th, 2010
- League A needs 13 teams. It currently has 11 teams.
- Relegate = bottom 6 teams to B
- Remain = 5 teams.
- Promoted = 8 teams from B
- Total = 13 teams.
- League B needs 4x13 = 52 teams. It currently has 4x11 = 44 teams.
- Relegate to C the bottom 4 per group = 16 teams => Remain = 28 teams.
- Promote to A = 8 teams (top 2 per each group) => Remain = 20 teams.
- Relegated to B from A = 6 => Remain = 26 teams.
- Promoted to B = 26 teams as follows:
- 16 teams from League C (1st and 2nd)
- 4 teams from FT (1st)
- 6 teams from D (1st).
- Total = 52 teams.
- League C needs 16x13 (208 teams). It currently has 8x11 = 88 teams.
- Promote to B = 16 teams (top 2 per each group) => Remain = 72 teams.
- Relegated from B = 16 teams => Remain = 88 teams.
- Promoted = 10 teams (6 from D, 4 from FT) => Remain = 98 teams.
- Move teams from D and FT as follows:
- 44 teams from FT (remaining)
- 53 teams from D (remaining)
- Total = 195 teams. There's room for 13 new teams.
- League D needs zero. It currently has 6x11 - 1 = 65 teams.
- Promote = 12 teams (6 @ 1st place to B, 6 @ 2nd place to C) => Remain = 53 teams.
- Move all remaining 53 teams to C
- Remain = 0.
- League FT needs zero. It currently has 4x13 = 52 teams.
- Promote = 4 teams (1st place per each group) to B => Remain = 48 teams.
- Move remaining 48 teams to C => Remain = 0.

31.10.2009: Champions League Registration and Application Reminder
This year, the application process for Champions League is entirely by Direct Entry.
You must choose the "Register by Direct Entry" option.
